Translator & Linguist
As a language practitioner, Isabel is a Chartered Linguist and has extensive experience in literary, documentary, institutional, and technical translation; copywriting and scriptwriting; lexicography and terminology; authoring and voicing language-learning material; referencing/documentation; and tutoring, mentoring and lecturing in creative writing and translation.
For over two decades, she worked as a full-time translator and reviser, and later as Head of the Terminology & Reference Section, in a United Nations specialised agency with HQ in London (International Maritime Organisation - IMO).
Isabel's most recent literary translation is 'Equidistant Voices', an anthology of sixteen Latin American poets who currently live in the UK.
